Mark Stiers is president and chief operating officer of DTE Gas, DTE Energy’s natural gas utility which provides service to 1.2 million homes and businesses in Michigan. Stiers is responsible for all utility gas operations, gas sales and distribution as well as utility midstream transportation and storage services. The DTE Energy portfolio includes gas, electric, and non-utility energy businesses focused on power and industrial projects, natural gas pipelines, gathering and storage, and energy marketing and trading. As one of Michigan’s leading corporate citizens, DTE Energy is a force for growth and prosperity in the 450 Michigan communities it serves in a variety of ways, including philanthropy, volunteerism and economic progress.
Prior to joining DTE Energy, Stiers was chief operating officer at Quest Energy, LLC, the largest alternative electricity supplier in Michigan, and vice president of retail electric at WPS Energy Services, the parent company of Quest Energy.
Mark is a board member at The Right Place in Grand Rapids, MI and at the United Way, where he holds several board positions (Treasurer, Chair of Finance & serves on the Executive Committee). He is Board Chair at Local Initiatives Support Corporation (LISC) in Detroit, and a board member at Talent 2025 West Michigan in Grand Rapids.
Stiers earned a master of business administration and an honors bachelor of commerce degree from the University of Windsor.
