Advancing Macomb Welcomes Third Cohort of Nonprofit Accelerator Program

Advancing Macomb is proud to announce the organizations selected for the third cohort of its Nonprofit Accelerator, a leadership development program designed to strengthen the operations, sustainability and impact of small to mid-size nonprofit organizations serving Macomb County residents.

The spring 2026 session features 10 nonprofit groups working on a variety of community issues, from helping individuals experiencing housing instability keep their pets to offering job training and placement for veterans and underserved populations.

“The continued interest in the Nonprofit Accelerator highlights the strength and dedication of Macomb County’s nonprofit community,” said Phil Gilchrist, Executive Director of Advancing Macomb. “Each organization in this cohort is making a meaningful difference in people’s lives. Through the Accelerator, they will gain the tools, connections and guidance needed to grow their impact.”

The four-month program combines in-person and virtual sessions led by expert partners on topics including board development, fundraising, strategic planning, communications, public policy and technology.

“What makes the Accelerator special is that leaders don’t just learn from experts, they learn from each other and build relationships that strengthen the nonprofit ecosystem across Macomb County,” said Meghan Rutigliano, Advancing Macomb Program Manager.

The Nonprofit Accelerator is currently offered at no cost to participating organizations thanks to generous support from the Ralph C. Wilson, Jr. Foundation. After completing the program, graduates are paired with mentors to continue implementing what they’ve learned and sustain long-term growth.
