Today is GivingTuesday, a global day created to inspire generosity and philanthropy.
On this day, many of us are overwhelmed with email and social media charitable giving requests, challenging us with making decisions about where to donate and where we can make the greatest impact.
Advancing Macomb can help.
We recognize the critical role nonprofit organizations play in solving local challenges and improving the quality of life in communities throughout Macomb County. We encourage you to “give where you live,” donating your time or financial resources to make a difference in your own community.
You have many options. You can deliver food or gift cards to your local food pantry, participate in neighborhood coat and toy drives or donate to a community organization where you feel most connected.
We also encourage you to think about ways to contribute to your community beyond the holiday season. As many nonprofit organizations face shrinking budgets and strained resources, they need support all year long.
Giving doesn’t have to be financial. Many nonprofit organizations welcome volunteers who can donate their time and talents. If you are interested in this option, you can complete a volunteer interest form on our website, and we will connect you to a local nonprofit that matches your skills and interests.
If you are looking to make a financial contribution, we can help you identify causes that you are passionate about and ways we can help amplify your impact through the Advancing Macomb Community Investment Fund.
Communities thrive when we all work together. We hope this GivingTuesday inspires you to make a difference in your community, not just today but throughout the new year.
