This past week, both Michigan and the federal government were on the brink of a shutdown. Here in Michigan, a last-minute budget deal in Lansing may have prevented immediate disruption for nonprofits at the state level. However, uncertainty remains in Washington.
A federal shutdown could cause significant disruptions for nonprofits. Federal employees may be furloughed, leaving agencies unable to answer questions, process paperwork or move grant applications forward.
