We are thrilled to announce that Meghan Rutigliano has joined Advancing Macomb as our new program manager. In this role, Meghan will oversee the launch and management of our Nonprofit Incubator Program, designed to provide critical resources and strategic support to nonprofit organizations and leaders throughout Macomb County.
With over 15 years of experience in nonprofit leadership, project management and community engagement, Meghan brings a wealth of expertise to our team. A resident of Lafayette Park in Detroit, she moved to the city four years ago with a passion to contribute to its vibrant arts scene as a community-focused journalist, project manager and nonprofit strategist.
Before relocating to Detroit, Meghan spent over a decade with Burning Man Project (501c3) in San Francisco. There, she piloted the Event Lead Mentorship Program, offering hands-on learning opportunities for over 100 event producers worldwide. She also curated and produced 19 leadership conferences for Burning Man Project at their headquarters in San Francisco and in 10 European cities.
Recently, Meghan hosted a six-month cohort of membership managers from across North America for LION Publishing’s Community Ambassador Program. This culminated in Meghan leading a best practices session for membership managers at LION’s annual leadership conference in Chicago.
This October, her community engagement work with Planet Detroit was spotlighted as a case study at the Reynolds Journalism Institute’s Community-Centered Symposium in Missouri.
Meghan is a certified Project Management Professional (PMP) who takes a collaborative approach to her work. In addition to her responsibilities with the Nonprofit Incubator Program, she will play a key role in our signature events, such as the Summer Soirée and the Community Engagement Summit. Meghan will also assist in supporting and expanding other areas of our nonprofit-focused programming.
We are excited about Meghan’s impact and look forward to seeing how her leadership helps strengthen and expand Macomb’s nonprofit community.
