Description

A strong impact story starts with a few good questions and a clear place to begin.Numbers can show what we did and what changed. They rarely explain why it matters without help. Building a culture of data means asking better questions along the way. Do we use what we collect? Are we collecting the right information? Are we talking about it together, and with the people we serve?

Join Advancing Macomb and Maureen Rovas of UpMetrics for a facilitated conversation about connecting what you measure to the change you make.Together, participants will:

  • Build small, realistic habits for asking better questions of your data
  • Work through why outputs and outcomes are important evidence, but not the whole impact story
  • Practice pairing numbers with the experiences and perspectives behind them
  • Connect the work to the change: what we did, what changed, for whom, and why it matters

Participants will leave with a few simple next steps they can take back to their organization and start right away.

Maureen Rovas brings nearly two decades of nonprofit experience, including fundraising and executive leadership. At UpMetrics, she works with nonprofits and foundations to understand, measure, and communicate their impact, including through the Southeast Michigan Community Impact Cohort.
