“Macomb has been my home for my entire life, and the place where I practiced law for over 40 years. My education at Warren High School gave me the opportunity to attend the University of Michigan as an undergraduate and receive my legal education from the University of Michigan Law School. Macomb is where I raised my family and its schools educated my children who went on to the University of Michigan and Michigan State University.
During my professional career I was fortunate to work with Paul O’Reilly and Kenneth Rancilio, and with them form the law firm now known as O’Reilly Rancilio P.C. which continues to be the largest full-service law firm headquartered in Macomb County. Having served as a director, officer and managing partner of O’Reilly Rancilio P.C., I have come to appreciate that understanding your clients is the first step in providing them quality legal services. I have represented numerous family-owned manufacturing and service businesses and have prepared estate plans and succession plans for many business owners. I provide estate and trust administration services and serve as a trustee for numerous family trusts. I hold an “AV” rating through Martindale-Hubbell, the highest rating awarded attorneys by their peers.
O’Reilly Rancilio P.C. represents local municipalities and school districts, local businesses and individuals. It is well-known and active in all courts. The Firm was pleased to serve as general counsel to the Macomb County Charter Commission. To build a large legal practice in the community means that the members of our Firm not only work in the community but participate and contribute to the community. While the Firm’s clientele covers southeastern Michigan, its focus for service continues to be the communities, businesses and people of the greater Macomb area.
I have also been fortunate to have had the opportunity to be the founder of Leadership Macomb, Inc., which through its continuing program, has provided the impetus and development for hundreds of leaders in Macomb County. It has always been my belief that an individual can be a leader in their family, business, church and greater community. A leader can provide vision, organization and motivation in whatever setting they may be involved in.
In addition to Leadership Macomb, Inc., I have had the opportunity to be the President of the Friends of the Octagon House, Inc., the local rotary club, as well as a member of the Board of Education of Warren Consolidated Schools. My profession has made it possible to facilitate the establishment of the Advancing Macomb Foundation and the Friends of the Macomb Orchard Trail and provide ongoing support to the Sterling Heights Area Community Foundation.”
