Mount Clemens, Mich. (Sept. 24, 2025) – Advancing Macomb, a 501c3 that convenes resources to solve community challenges and enrich the lives of Macomb County residents, has partnered with Velocity, Macomb County’s business and innovation hub in Sterling Heights, to host a free four-part storytelling series designed to help nonprofit and business leaders strengthen their communication and community engagement. The series kicked off in August with a session led by Roop Raj of FOX 2 Detroit, who shared his expertise on crafting compelling stories. Three additional sessions are scheduled for this fall, each focused on developing practical storytelling skills to help nonprofit and business leaders communicate their messages more effectively.

(Sept. 2, 2025) – Advancing Macomb, a 501c3 that convenes resources to solve community challenges and enrich the lives of Macomb County residents, will host its third annual Community Engagement Summit, presented by First State Bank, on Thursday, September 18, 2025, from 8:30 a.m. to noon at the John Lewis Community Center at Macomb Community College in Warren, Mich. The half-day event will bring together business, civic and nonprofit leaders for a morning of networking, collaboration and learning, aimed at inspiring action and building partnerships while exploring best practices for community engagement.

Advancing Macomb is proud to support Macomb County communities by helping to strengthen local non-profit organizations. Through its new Capacity Building Grant Program, Advancing Macomb has awarded $45,000 to 13 small and growing nonprofits making a meaningful difference. Launched this spring in partnership with Huntington Bank, the program supports nonprofits serving low- to moderate-income communities in Macomb County by providing one-time grants of up to $5,000. These funds help organizations improve operations, strengthen leadership and expand their reach – ensuring long-term sustainability and greater impact.
