What will you do when the weather gets warm? 500 kids across the East Side will be testing out their wheels on sidewalks of Warren, the streets of St. Clair Shores and bike paths of Sterling Heights. Do you want to be a part of it?
Advancing Macomb has hit the ground pedaling in 2017 with the great success of Macomb County’s East Side Bike Drive bike collection. As the first-ever county-wide bike drive, we are all immensely grateful for everyone who made phase one possible. From our members, partners and volunteers to the cities and townships who provided collection points throughout the county. From inception to collection, the community spirit rose with great enthusiasm throughout and around Macomb County. Phase one yielded 800 bikes from eight communities across the county.
Advancing Macomb is proud to announce its fourth project – $10,000 to support crowdfunding for the downtown WaterTowns® Mt. Clemens riverfront project.
Advancing Macomb, a civic leadership group, is in the process of hosting its inaugural East Side Bike Drive to collect gently used bicycles for families in need. The weeklong Shelby Township bike drive kicked off Saturday, Oct. 29, and will conclude Nov. 6.
The spring season of 2017 might bring out hundreds of new bikers. That’s the intention of nonprofit Advancing Macomb and surrounding communities that are participating in the first year of the Eastside Bike Drive.
