Advancing Macomb, a civic leadership group, is in the process of hosting its inaugural East Side Bike Drive to collect gently used bicycles for families in need. The weeklong Shelby Township bike drive kicked off Saturday, Oct. 29, and will conclude Nov. 6.

Do you have more bikes than people in your home? No problem! Help kids across the Eastside and help clear some space in your garage. Consolidating this first-ever county-wide bike drive campaign, Advancing Macomb, the Macomb YMCA, Leadership Macomb, Thoughtful Missions, The Macomb County Executive Office, CARE of Southeast Michigan and No Bike Left Behind are creating a positive community impact by collecting bikes across Macomb this fall and distributing those bikes to kids in need in the spring of 2017.

This public marina redevelopment will help provide additional public access to Lake St. Clair and support development throughout the community. New Baltimore is home to an historic downtown and public beach. This project will be a major addition to the waterfront assets in the Detroit Region for boaters and non-boaters alike.

WaterTowns is the Clinton River Watershed Council’s community-based placemaking initiative designed to help towns and cities in the watershed leverage the assets of the Clinton River, its tributaries and Lake St. Clair for water-oriented community development. The key initiatives of the program are developing and promoting the Clinton River and Lake St. Clair paddling trails, community planning and civic engagement. Through the WaterTowns program, CRWC works to engage communities through art, history, ecology, recreation and education by hosting paddling events, stewardship opportunities and educational forums.
