Meet Grace Shore

We are featuring Advancing Macomb board member Grace Shore. Grace is the CEO of the Macomb County Chamber, a 900-member organization that is respected throughout the state. She has lived and worked in Macomb County for most of her life being involved in numerous professional, civic and business organizations in Macomb and throughout the region. She has built a strong reputation as a progressive and impactful member of the local business community during her more than 36 years with the chamber. Under Shore’s leadership, the Macomb County Chamber of Commerce has been twice recognized with the Outstanding Chamber of the Year Award from the Michigan Association of Chamber Professionals.

Martin Manna – The Chaldean Chamber and Foundation

Chaldeans have a history dating all the way back to ancient Mesopotamia, and are indigenous to Iraq, Syria, and parts of Iran and Turkey. Iraq has the largest population of Chaldeans followed by Syria. Chaldeans are Eastern Rite Catholics who have their own patriarch in Baghdad with the Pope being the highest authority. Chaldeans speak Aramaic, which is the oldest continuous language in the world and the language spoken by Jesus Christ.

Rossmann’s commitment to the southeast Michigan region extends beyond her work through Henry Ford Macomb Hospitals. She serves as a board member for the Sterling Heights Regional Chamber, the Alliance for Advancing Nonprofit Healthcare, the Michigan chapter of the American College of Healthcare Executives; the Macomb Health Plan; the Families Against Narcotics Advisory Board; the Michigan State University College of Osteopathic Medicine Statewide Campus System; the 5/3 Bank Eastern Division Board of Directors, as vice chair of the Southeast Michigan Red Cross board, and a member of the Michigan Hospital Association’s Legislative Policy Panel.

A former assistant Macomb County executive has a new job, but the same goals: advancing the county’s economic and community development. Melissa Roy has been named executive director of Advancing Macomb, a nonprofit organization comprising leaders from across Macomb County who those involved say are focused on creating long-term economic opportunities and sustainable communities.

Advancing Macomb Announces Executive Director

Advancing Macomb – A group of leaders from across Macomb County have come together to set an agenda focused on creating long term economic opportunities and sustainable communities. Today they announce their new executive director, Melissa Roy. In July of 2012, Macomb County Executive, Mark Hackel asked local community and business leaders to create an entity that could drive community and economic development for the county. Modeled after organizations like Detroit Renaissance and Grand Action, Advancing Macomb (AM) – a 501C3 private non-profit – was launched in June of 2013 and now in the spring of 2015, has established an office in Mount Clemens and secured the executive director services of Melissa Roy.
