Over cocktails and hors d'oeuvres, business, civic and nonprofit leaders gathered to network and celebrate Advancing Macomb's recent accomplishments at the 7th annual Summer Soirée. The event was hosted by board member Jodi Switalski and took place at the Switalski Law offices in downtown Mount Clemens.

Macomb Daily, September 12, 2023 - ...The center ceased operations until a few years later when Advancing Macomb went to bat for young people in the community who no longer had a place to play. Following on its mission to provide leadership and resources needed to solve the challenges in the community, Advancing Macomb negotiated an agreement with the City of Mount Clemens to assume ownership and operations from the Mount Clemens Community Schools district. They also secured the $290,000 in funding enabling the city to contract with TCB Youth Mentoring, a nonprofit youth organization dedicated to assisting at-risk youth as the center's new operating partner.

C & G News - The Mount Clemens City Commission has voted to maintain its recreation partnership with Advancing Macomb. City commissioners voted unanimously on the matter at the April 17 meeting Funds in the amount of $19,000 and the use of the city’s recreational facilities were the terms of the deal. The funds came on top of a prior allocation of $5,600 in Community Development Block Grant funds. This will be the second year of Mount Clemens taking part in the “Breaking Barriers to Play” program, an initiative by Advancing Macomb to help lower the cost of community and family-centered recreation.
