Ribbon Cutting for Accessible Kayak Launch in Mount Clemens

The goal of the launch is to make the river accessible to all skill levels and to those with disabilities. The launch features an extendable bench seat to assist in getting in and out of your kayak and a floating platform with rollers that makes entering and exiting the water a breeze.

Advancing Macomb Board Members Collaborate to Fund Mt. Clemens Riverfront Development

The Advancing Macomb board answered a call to help provide gap funding for the new recreation and launch site on the Clinton River in Mt. Clemens. Final bids for the project came in much higher than anticipated due to additional engineering needed to lower ongoing maintenance costs. The Clinton River Watershed Council spearheaded the project as a part of its broader Watertowns® initiative.

Advancing Macomb Gives 670 Bikes to Kids throughout Macomb County

Advancing Macomb completed the very first county-wide bike drive and give-away on Saturday, May 20th. The program began in the fall of 2016 with Macomb County and neighboring residents donating a total of 800 bikes to township and city hall offices.

East Side Bike Drive

Advancing Macomb has hit the ground pedaling in 2017 with the great success of Macomb County’s East Side Bike Drive bike collection. As the first-ever county-wide bike drive, we are all immensely grateful for everyone who made phase one possible. From our members, partners and volunteers to the cities and townships who provided collection points throughout the county. From inception to collection, the community spirit rose with great enthusiasm throughout and around Macomb County. Phase one yielded 800 bikes from eight communities across the county.
