Shadyside Park: Creativity & Activity

Mount Clemens’ Shadyside Park was full of creativity and activity this summer. Advancing Macomb hosted a series of community art sessions in the park to get the community’s creativity engaged while community partners upped the activity. Supported by the Michigan Council for Arts and Cultural Affairs grant program, the art sessions helped bring arts and crafts into the hands of citizens of Mount Clemens to come together, create, and talk about ways to enhance their community through art.

Partnership with Michigan Community Service Commission Promotes Volunteerism

Advancing Macomb was chosen to be one of 13 organizations in the state to partner with the Michigan Community Service Commission (MCSC) to launch the Michigan Community Resilience Program. The MCSC, which utilizes service as a strategy to address the state's most pressing issues and empowers volunteers to strengthen communities, awarded a total of $200,000 in grants among those nonprofits to aid in COVID-19 response and recovery.
