Mount Clemens “Play Everywhere” Call for Artists

Advancing Macomb, in partnership with the City of Mount Clemens, the Anton Art Center and the Macomb Family YMCA, has released a call for artists to design and manage the installation of four separate public outdoor paintings. This project will execute the vision of the KaBoom! "Play Everywhere" challenge to bring “play to unexpected but everyday spaces, making it easy and available for kids and families.”

Advancing Macomb Seeks Executive Director

Advancing Macomb, a Macomb County business and community leadership organization representing nearly 900,000 residents and 18,000 businesses, is seeking an executive director. David Girodat, president and chief executive officer of Fifth Third Bank for Eastern Michigan and Advancing Macomb board chair, made the announcement today.

Robots in Macomb

The Cyberstangs of Merritt Academy in New Haven is one of more than a dozen high school FIRST Robotics teams in Macomb County. This team is in its fourth year, but FIRST has been in existence since 1989. Teams are tasked with designing, building, and programming a robot to compete against other teams.

Manufacturing Monday

As part of Advancing Macomb’s mission to help Macomb County grow as good place to live, work, and play, we began our #ManufacturingMonday Twitter campaign to promote the strong manufacturing community in the county.  Since December 2017, Advancing Macomb has been taking to Twitter on Mondays to highlight local manufacturers.  Macomb County has a wealth of manufacturers in a variety of industries - automotive, aerospace, defense, industrial, agricultural, etc. The goal is to make these companies more visible to our community and to others in the industry.

Advancing Macomb board members, trustees, and staff gathered with Mount Clemens leaders and business owners at the Anton Art Center on August 22, 2018 to share a positive focus on Mount Clemens in its 200th year and start ideas flowing for the future. This event was part of the monthly gatherings for our Advancing Macomb trustee group. Trustee program events have been generously sponsored by Hitachi Business Finance.
