Fox2 News Detroit story video - "Advancing Macomb, a 501c3 that convenes resources to solve community challenges has secured funding to support programming at the Cairns Community Center in Mount Clemens, officially allowing the center to reopen. Because of the funding secured by Advancing Macomb, the City of Mount Clemens was able to contract with TCB Youth Mentoring, a nonprofit youth organization dedicated to assisting at-risk youth, as the new operating partner. Mount Clemens Cairns Center gives youth a place to play after school

Macomb Daily - August 31, 2022 The sounds of children having fun after school — learning how to play basketball or just socializing with other kids in the neighborhood — has returned to Cairns Community Center in Mount Clemens. Three-years ago, after the center was forced to close its doors because of a lack of funding and operating partners, Advancing Macomb went to bat for young people in the community who no longer had a place to play.

General Motors awards eight community impact grants to local organizations

General Motor's Global Technical Center in Warren is granting a total of $160,000 to eight nonprofits in the area to improve the lives of people in the community. Ahead of the annual employee car show held at the center, GM recognized the organizations, each working to build community through a multitude of programs.

GM boosts local community with grants to nonprofits

General Motors awarded $160,000 in community grants to eight local nonprofit organizations (including Advancing Macomb) Wednesday during a special presentation at the GM Technical Center in Warren. The grants are part of GM’s Community Impact Grants program, created in 2010, and are focused on STEM education, vehicle and road safety, community development, and climate equity.
